michael w smith

Today, I'm minding my business... taking ice cream orders... and a nice man hands me his credit card...

I look down and see this:

I compose myself while my head is still down and slowly peer at the man in front of me...  (is that him?  I've seen him before...  Jennafer try to remember what he looks like in person and not on youtube...)

I then just ask him if his name is really Michael W Smith... it is... and he's not the real one... IMPOSTOR!!!

So I gave him an extra cookie for having a rock star name.

having a scooper-dee-dooper day,

P.S.  I had the opportunity to talk to my dear friend who makes magic on the other coast, Amber.  I adore this woman.  She challenges me to love people so deeply.  She is a true, honest, and wonderful friend and I'm SO incredibly thankful for her!!  Amber... if I saw your name on a credit card-- I'd give you two cookies!!!!!!  Thanks for being so fantastic and making me a better human!

day off

Today is my day off and I am LOVING it!  I slept in 'til one and get to hang out with Brady all day!  Yesterday we took new headshots for me to send to Disney and had such a fun time with our life group last night.

Here's the one we sent:

Brady leads a bible study every Friday night at our house.  He's posting the daily "homework" on his blog (www.bradywhite.com/biblestudy)-- so if you're looking for help in your quiet time... check it out!!

here's to a relaxing day,

samuel david white

Welcome to the world!!!

Samuel David White was born yesterday!!  I can't wait to hold this little guy in person and take him on Splash Mountain!

Oh sweet little buddy, I hope you can feel how much we love you- even though we are far away!!!

Congrats Miss, Coop, Lil and Hayden!!!  We adore your family! :)

i'm a new aunt,

happy birthday haagen dazs

Yesterday Haagen Dazs celebrated it's 50th birthday!!  We offered free scoops of our three original flavors... CHOCOLATE, VANILLA and COFFEE!  The line was NUTS, the guests were CRAZY and we scooped and scooped and scooped and scooped!!!

Here's all of us preparing for the rush!!
This doesn't do it justice... but here are the guests starting to line up :)
And one of my favorite people from Disney came to visit me!!  (probably just to get free ice cream) but I still felt so loved!!!  This is Boskie, he's one of my leads at Disney and we make a crazy amount of magic when we work together!!

i love birthdays,

goin' to the chapel and NATE'S gonna get ma-ha-air-ried...

IT'S TRUE!  MY BROTHER IS GETTING MARRIED!  I'm super stoked that today this picture was texted to me by my soon-to-be sister-in-law (could there be any more dashes??)

I'm pretty sure that ya'll know that I think my brother is the coolest of the cool... so he's darn lucky he found a girl that I also think is super enough to get to hang out with him for the rest of their lives!  I couldn't be more excited for them!!  Chaela's already been a part of our family, but it's so much fun to make it official!!

I just got back from work where I was told by my manager to apply to be a trainer!  This is super exciting because on my "timeline of soon-to-be the mayor of all things Disney" this wasn't going to happen until the fall!!!  I may not be able to do it since I'm still on "probation" but I'm super stoked to be considered this early on.

I got to close the restaurant tonight... so I was able to have a great conversation with a woman I really admire at work.  She started talking about how Disney wasn't honoring her availability, how she just feels like a number here, and that no one really cares if she comes to work or not.  I was silent for a number of reasons while I listened to her talk...  1) I was so SAD that THIS is the impression she got of this company that I admire so much.  2) What am I going to do to make sure she feels appreciated when she comes to work? 3) How am I going to make sure, in an area where there are 200+ cast members working every week, that they feel like individuals?

I feel challenged and excited about my "Disney Career Climb" and so thankful the Lord placed me where He did!  I'm getting to see some things that I would have NEVER imagined and I'm excited to someday have the opportunity to change that and make people feel special when they clock in!

i'm getting a new sister in law,

This morning I woke up to some news I knew was coming but didn't want to hear.  The amazing young woman, whose family I asked for help to get them to Disney,  went to be with Jesus yesterday.  I never even met Amanda...  I only started to follow her story a few mere months ago.  But there was something about today that felt off.  I missed her and I never even knew her.  She will never have the opportunity of knowing how much she impressed me and how encouraged I feel by her story!  She was so filled with the Joy of the Lord and loved Him so so so deeply!  I'm so excited that she is sleeping peacefully in His arms right now-- no more pain, no more sickness and no more tears!!!  Praise Him for ETERNITY!!!!!!!!  Please pray for her sweet family that is left behind.  (and thanks to all of my magical friends who helped make one of her last wishes come true!!)

holy hurley

Well... we've experienced our first California Warehouse Sale....  and I am HOOOOOKED!  Hurley has been having a sale for the past week and EVERYTHING is over 50% off!!  We went yesterday and we're getting ready to take the boys today... I can't wait!

Look at how huge this place is!!!!

Yesterday I saw the Aladdin show for the first time!  I LOVE IT!  So sad that it's only going to be here until August... but can't wait to see what they do with Toy Story!  So fun!

After work last night I rode Astro Orbitors and Space Mountain... AND I got to take my final 15 minute break under the fireworks... what a fantastic day!!

new hurley fan,

I'll leave you with this silly little moo...  She slept like this for a good 30 minutes while we watched a movie...  silly puppies always make my day!

boys and ice

Iron man was awesome.

I really loved it.

Pepper Potts is so cool.

After we went to the movie we went to eat at the House of Blues... We weren't blown away by the food, but Brady's water did do something really cool at the restaurant.  Look at this:

Even Downtown Disney is full of magic!!!!!!!!!!

Then we came home to four extremely sweet boys!  Our house is packed and it is awesome! :)  I love living somewhere where we can bless people with a place to stay!!  SIGN UP!  COME FOR A VISIT!!! :)

Tomorrow the boys are going to Disney... I can't wait to hear about their adventures!! :)

no really... come visit,

iron man 2

Today is a day I've been waiting for since exactly the first day I watched Iron Man.  I l.o.v.e this movie.  I mean seriously LOVE it!  I walked around like Iron Man for at least a week when I realized how awesome it was.   Sometimes the moo and I play "iron man" with each other.  I'm Iron Man and she's Pepper Pots.

Also, last night we gained FOUR roommates!  Our dear friend, Josh, from NC (who we met in Brazil) came with his buddies to CALIFORNIA! :)  So fun to have visitors all the time.

Today will be awesome.  I can already tell.

late carousel ride

During the holidays (yes, this is a LATE post) we found ourselves being pulled through the Columbia, MO  mall by a four year old with a carousel-agenda.

Nate decided that he would be the one to take Emily around and around and around and around... but the fantastic man decided to let our whole family on.  Come to find out, children of ALL ages enjoy carousels! :)

date day

Today was awesome because I'm married to my very bestest buddy.  We slept in (always what the best of days start with), finished shipping our ebay stuff (we scored on ebay this week!  Thank you, Lord!!!), and headed to Disney! :)

We rode the matterhorn--  so fun.

Played at Innovations:  this is an electronic table that you can play chess on!! :)

Explored Tarzan's treehouse:

Look who we found while we were visiting Turk!

Joined a great skipper on board the Jungle Cruise:

Found out we could watch movies for only $7 here!  (much better than the $13 tickets usually cost...  holy cow california!!!!)  So we went to watch Date Night with some of our friends from Life Group! :)

Then we made Trader Joe's yummy pumpkin pancakes-- PS Brady makes the best pancakes... if only iHop knew of his talents...

We ended the evening with me really beating Brady at Monopoly and watching West Wing!

happy sunday to me,
